Drums

I found this sketch at The Scrappiest.  I didn't stick completely to it, but it was the inspiration for this layout about drumming at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I mostly used the Mind the Gap kit from Studio Calico to make this page.  I added a few various pieces of ephemera to the tag to make a little cluster and add some journaling.  The title is made with october afternoon stickers and a few rhinestones.

Splash

Here's the first of two pages I made for a splash challenge at the Sweet Peach Crop
Shop Blog.  I used some of their kit and some of a Studio Calico kit for this page.
I don't think you can see it very well, but after I placed the Sassafrass Lass letters on the title, I went over them with Crystal Effects, giving it an epoxy/wet look.  I thought that would be perfect since the title was splash.

Cafe 2 2 Tango

Cafe 2 2 Tango has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando - my page yesterday was there and so is today's.   Here's a pic of us eating some Chocolate Rasberry Cheesecake on a stick.....DELISH!  Most of the pieces on this page were from the Sweet Peach Crop
Shop.  I added a few SU papers and other little embellies.  I painted the cafe letters and one of the butterflies with Glimmer Glam and sprayed the others with Lemonade Mr. Huey.

Handiwork

This is one of our first adventures on our vacation this past summer.  We ate at one of our favorite restaurants in Orlando, Cafe Tu Tu Tango - it's all appetizers.  It has local artists every night live doing something, so the night we took our daughter, there was a sculptor there.  She wanted to make a manatee and with his help, it actually looked really cool!

Here we come!

Well for some reason the bottom of this looks a little green - I'm not really sure why that happened - it is a gray background page.  Anyway, I mostly used pieces from a recent kit from the Sweet Peach Crop Shop to make this page.  And this page begins our scrapbook of Disney pics.....beware there will be lots of Disney pics coming soon!

Fresh

I heading up a month's worth of challenges over at the Studio Calico blog this month, so one of the challenges I added was to use heat embossing on a layout.  Here I used the Boardwalk kit from Studio Calico and some Wild Wasabi heat embossing powder from SU.  You can also see that I made some cherries out of my baker's twine!

Let's Race!

The hubby stole my camera for a few days to take pics of his favorite basketball players this past week at a few games he went to, so I am just now able to get my pics back off of it to load up!  I have 3 ready to go!  Too bad I've already missed all my contest deadlines....oh, well - I got a few pages scrapped and that's all I needed!  :)
This layout used the Paper Moon kit from Studio Calico. Super quick and not to busy!

New Prima mask

I had some gorgeous new paper from my Boardwalk Studio Calico kit and a Prima mask I wanted to use, so I put them together to make this page.  I loved the dreamy look of my daughter looking out at the field, so I chose this sky colored background and placed my mask against it.  I spritzed over it with Barnwood Mr. Huey for the look you see below.
I used a border from the patterned paper used on the page and this Chalkboard sticker for the date - I just wrote on it with a chalk pen.  I added a few SU rub-ons for a finishing touch and that was it!

Using up some scraps

Found this sketch over at Easy Craft Projects, so I thought it would be perfect for these silly pics of my daughter.

The Sweet Peach Crop Shop had a Use Your Scraps challenge, so I decided to use up some October Afternoon scraps I've had since the spring.   Frosted Designs started an animal challenge, so I didn't originally plan to use a yellow/black color scheme here, but I had this little duck and thought it was perfect for these goofy pictures!  I'll never forget trying to get some pretty pictures of my daughter in this darling outfit....this is mostly what I got - silliness!
So....what better title for these pics than, "You Quack me up!"

I used October Afternoon letter stickers for most of the title.  The word Quack is from American Crafts Thickers that I colored with my Copic markers.  The ric rac is Fancy Pants and the duck is Prima.  The flowers are from Creative Memories and the page and flowers are all spritzed with Lemonade Mr. Huey.

Best Buddies

It may be too late to enter this into the Try it Thursday challenge at Sweet Peach Crop Shop Blog, but I had a journaling card with surfboards on it that I bought to match some of the papers from one of their recent kits.  I didn't really want the surfboards on there, so I covered them up with the Best Buddies title piece.  Basically all of the accents came from that punch out page.  I sanded them all with my distressing kit to smooth the edges.  I added some lime baker's twine to the title card and a gorgeous flower from the kit to the center of the yellow flower.
I am a big journaling person - I used to do all computer generated journaling, but then I realized how much I enjoy seeing things my parents and grandparents wrote, so I decided hand written journaling is just as important.  Whe I find journaling cards that only somewhat work like this one, I just try and figure out how to alter it to make it work for me!

Making room for more!

I'm using up some of my supplies from the Mind the Gap kit so I can make room for a gorgeous new kit from Studio Calico called Boardwalk.  I am in love with all the gorgeous green papers!  So here are a few more Easter pics I made with my last kit.  Not completely traditional colors.
Above I used some American Crafts paper and a 1 3/4" circle punch to make that circle border.  The tags are from the Countryside line by SC - I couldn't resist all those egg-y tags for this page!  The letters are Sassafrass Lass.
Here is my lone kite flying page - you can't even see it in the picture because it is so tiny!  I liked how the girls were following Toby like little ducklings.
I added some stitching across the border of the paper holding the pictures and also at the top of the banner.  Just had to do another banner for ScrapFIT's challenge!
Paper:  Studio Calico, American Crafts, Stickers: Doodlebug Designs, Echo Park Co., Tag: Studio Calico, Button: My Mind's Eye, Punches: Stampin' Up!

Caterpillar Crazy!

I was actually working on another layout using another picture from this set when I found this sketch.  Somehow my brain went into mojo mode and I just continued with the page I made yesterday.  I used the same paper scraps - Pink Paislee and Studio Calico, but I liked the grid layout design here.

I used the 3X3 size for all the blocks and painted more frames with Tide Pool Glimmer Glam and Pink Lady Glimmer Glaze.  I added some more notions flowers for the visual triangle and a few tickets for the title and journaling.

Here you can see how I masked off the other two 3 inch blocks with paper and stamped the quilt block border stamp in VersaMark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  I was very pleased with the overall look of this!
By the way, I just had to get pics of my daughter and her obsession with caterpillars this spring - even in her Easter dress!  Who knew caterpillars could trump Easter eggs?

Cousins

I found this sketch at The Scrappiest and immediately had a vision for it.  I have these wood veneer frames from Studio Calico that I really like, so I thought I would use those for the blocks in the sketch.  From there, the ideas just kept rolling.
Here is the layout - I used Very Vanilla for the background paper and added some Pink Paislee and Studio Calico paper pieces under the Crate Paper border strips.  I added some Studio Calico notions and My Mind's Eye buttons for the finishing touches.
Here's a closeup of the fancy pants coffee filter - you can't see it well, because I used the very subtle Soft Sky color, but I stamped a quilt circle stamp across it.  I painted the two frames with Tide Pool Glimmer Glam and a pink color of Glimmer Glaze.  It's actually sparkly, although you can't see it!

Easter Day pics

I used my Spring Soiree kit from Lucky Girl Crafts to make this page.  I got a little inspiration from Papercrafter's Library to make it.
I added the pink tulle across as a border and used Carribean Blue and Lily Pad Glimmer Mist to color my flowers and leaves around the title.  I loved that the paper already had a banner on it, so I didn't do too much to change it up.

July Sketch #2

I found this sketch over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop blog yesterday and was trying to clean out some of my scraps of supplies.  I definitely did what I was trying to do - every single item on this page was either from a leftover paper or sticker sheet, a leftover piece of ribbon, rhinestone packaging, or flowers!
The only problem is I can't remember all the supplies!  I know the stickers are Cosmo Cricket.  The rhinestones and red flower are Prima, and the journaling spot is Jenni Bowlin.

Trying to make room for new products!

CHA was just held last week in Chicago (I didn't go, of course), so that means that lots of new products will be coming out soon!  I decided last night that I needed to go through my stuff and clean some stuff out.  Or use it up.  Here I was using up some Echo Park Co. Walk in the Park paper and stickers.  I also used some of the paper from the Paper Moon kit from Studio Calico.

So, you can see - nothing too fancy about this page - just fun colors for a fun day of egg coloring!
