Killing the Lawn Party kit

Do you ever get paper that you think is so beautiful that you don't want to use it?  I have been hoarding this paper for about 3 months now.....I wanted to use it, really....I just didn't want to because it was so pretty.  I know you've felt that way, too!  Anyway, I took the plunge and really used up this paper today!
I used the Lawn Party kit from Studio Calico for this page.  Here is the stamp which I embossed with irridescent ice embossing powder.  I colored the 3 with my Copic marker and a versamarker and embossed it as well.  Finally, I used a ruler and deliberately made straight lines at not straight angles so if they weren't perfect it was okay!
Here's the rest of the pictures and the other page I made.  I loved this doily paper and plaid paper.   I used a little journaling spot from the Smash pad for the journaling.
These thickers were vanilla in color, but I used one of my copic markers to color them to match my layout.  so easy!  If you look really close, you can see that the E used to be an F, I just added a little edge to make it an E!
And here is one more doily fussy cut from the paper and two Fancy Pants coffee filters that I spritzed with Bluegrass and Lemonade Mr. Huey (love that stuff!

The Effer Dares - Things I love

While on the Studio Calico site the other day, I came across the Effer Dares challenge site.  This week's challenge is a photo of something you love.....or for me, photos!
Well, since I can't exactly take a picture of God, I guess I'll post some pictures of things you can see!
I love my husband - we may not be perfect, but we've been married for 13 years and we are still pretty darn happy together!  What can I say?  I love my husband!  That's why I started scrapping in the first place....now I'm still scrapping 14 years later and even more in love with him now than I was then (I just weigh more now!)
I love my precious daughter - she is so sweet and so smart and so beautiful and so full of pure joy.  She is an angel here on Earth.   So, of course, my scrapbooks are filled with my two loves.
Although, I must admit to being guilty of loving treats!  Homemade or gourmet - if it has chocolate or ice cream in it, I'm game!  GUILTY!!!!
What about you?  What is it that you love?

Disney Princesses on Ice

I love and hate doing Disney pages......I love Disney because my daughter loves Disney....I can't ever decide how I want to do them, though.  I went on and bought the Disney princess theme pack from creative memories and spruced it up with a few things of my own.
I colored my Sassy Lil Studio Tink with my Copics and added a few Cinderella stickers.  I found these cute little pockets and hid some journaling inside and finished the title off with some extra rhinestones.
Now.....this page.....I'm not completely sure if I like it - I can't decide if I left too much white space or what.

I used the new lace border punch from SU and added a few flowers and stickers.  I used a rub-on and a Pink Paislee pennant for the title.  You notice I strategically placed that pennant on the picture of Jasmine.  It was a really good picture of Jasmine, but I just didn't want a picture of that Aladdin's hand holding her up just under her crotch!
And finally, this was just a quick and easy page with some more hidden journaling.  Just the serious and silly pics of my little princess in training!  :)

Just Be

Here's another sassy lil sketch I decided to use for this page.
Grids are all the rage right now in the scrapbooking world - I've made 3 grid layouts or card designs in the last week alone!  I liked the way that this one took the grid and tilted the picture on top of it.  I used some more of the Lawn Party Studio Calico kit.  I just took 4 designs and alternated where they came in the line so that there was a bit of order to it.
Here's the title - it's a coffee filter from Fancy Pants design.  I spritzed it with Smooch Spritz and added some vanilla colored thickers for the title.  I added a little tag with a "Be Not Afraid of Greatness" quote on it as well as a matching pebbles flag and flower brad.
I took a few of the Studio Calico tags for the journaling and held them together with a pebbles flower brad.

A card for a girl and a card for a boy

I had a little different take on this card.  I was playing with the Copic feathering blending method and made this gorgeous butterfly with my Strength and Hope stamp set.  I love the green/pink combo I came up with, so I decided to continue that with butterflies rather than ribbon on the sketch.  Here's my card:
You can't see it very well, but I colored the inner parts of the wings with a Spica glitter pen for a little extra shimmer and sparkle!
I used this sketch again, but this time I flipped it on it's side to make a card for my nephew who turned 2 yesterday.
I used a Stampin' Up set for the robot and color him with my Copics.  I added a little Crate Paper border and a Jenni Bowlin pennant banner for a festive birthday look for the 2 year old boy!  :)

For Your Inspiration

I 've been lurking around the For Your Inspiration blog for a while, but haven't participated, so I decided to give it a shot today.  I decided to use the brown/green/blue combo and frozen water (a.k.a. snow!)
Here's my layout - these are some pictures of my parents sledding with us this past winter!  Yes, they are 64 years old and having a blast here!  So much fun my daughter decided our back yard (which is a hill) should be renamed the Sled Park.  We liked it!
Here's a closeup of the journaling.  My dad never smiles with his mouth open, because he's lost all of his teeth, so I was just glad to get a smile!
And here's my mom - I just love the sincerity of her smile and her bravery for actually sledding with my daughter!  Mind you, we had to help her a little when she got to the bottom of the hill!  ;)  But she loved every minute of it!
Now, here you may be thinking....what does this have to do with that?  It is scraps from the paper I was using, so I used the same sketch to create a boyish card.  I just finished my beginner Copic certification, so I just had to play a little!

Because one isn't enough!

Okay, so call me crazy!  I have a blog already.  I know!  I decided to start another one for all of my scrappy pleasures (thus the title) that I make just for fun.
So, here is my first one - a sketch from Sketches in Thyme:
I went with some snowy photos for this and a cool but refreshing blue/purple color combo.  I had this paper in a Basic Grey paper pack that I got from the CKC Convention this spring.
Okay so these are just some fun pics of us out playing in the snow with our daughter and her friend.  I really love this purple and blue paper from Basic Grey - it looks like a pattern on one of my winter wool skirts - so it has a warm, cozy look.  I decided to use the spots on the side for snowflakes, but since they were so big, I just let half of them peek out from the photo mat.  On the sticker I added a little flocking and then backed it on the new pennant die cut coming in July from Stampin' Up.
Here's a little closeup.
